Holy Communion

LEARN MORE ABOUT HOLY COMMUNION

As body of Christ we believe that the body of Jesus was broken & His precious blood was shed on the cross of Calvary for the remission of our sins. It reminds us of the New Covenant that our Lord Jesus made with us “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”  1 Corinthians 11:25

The bread signifies the body of Christ & the wine signifies the blood of Christ,

as often as we eat this bread & drink this cup, we proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.

As the Holy Bible states in Matthew 26

26 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.

27 Then he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them,

saying, “Drink from it, all of you.

28 This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”

It is important that we take Holy Communion in a worthy manner. For Jesus warned us about the consequence of taking communion in an unworthy manner in 1 Corinthians 11

28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread and drink of that cup. 29 For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. 30 For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep. 31 For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged.
